Couple overjoyed after man wakes up from week-long coma, finds out girlfriend is pregnant

MIDDLESBROUGH, England — 25-year-old Arron Honzik was expected to die following a terrible car accident last week that put him in a coma.

Gazette Live reports that Honzik was induced into the coma after suffering spinal injuries and reacting badly to an aesthetic drug.

Doctors expected Honzik to die, but instead a miracle happened.

Honzik woke up from his coma on Friday – and he woke up to the news that he’d soon be a father.

His girlfriend, Chloe Spriggs, wrote him a note from the perspective of their child to give it to him in his room.

“We have waited so long for this special day… Surprise, our new baby is on the way! Baby Honzik due June 2017. Now let’s get you better because we need you home,” the note says. “Can’t wait to meet you!”

“I’m only around six weeks but we’ve been trying for ages,” Spriggs told Gazette Live. “It’s given us all something to look forward to. I can’t believe it.”

When Honzik received the news, he filmed himself telling his friends and family the news. Spriggs posted the video to her Facebook page and it has since been watched over 100,000 times.

“I held the card in front of him because he can’t lift his arms,” Spriggs told Gazette Live. “He said ‘this is the best news I have ever read’. He was sobbing.”

Since the announcement, friends and family of the couple have been showering them with love, support and baby gifts.

As for Honzik, “He’s making progress every day and the doctors aren’t 100% about what will happen,” his girlfriend said.

But, the fact that he’s alive and woke up from the coma shows miracles do happen.
