FOUNTAIN, Colo. — A high school teacher in the Fountain-Fort Carson School District 8 was in jail Thursday night, accused of sexually assaulting two female students, the Fountain Police Department said.

Police arrested Thomas McCombe, 49, after two students reported he touched them inappropriately.

Police said the girls contacted them on Oct. 5, saying they had been abused at Fountain-Fort Carson High School.

Police are investigating the case. McCombe has worked at the high school since 2007.

He is being held at the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center and is facing preliminary charges of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust and unlawful sexual assault, both felonies.
