A woman from Northglenn crafted a unique, nutritious sandwich recipe that is so delicious that she has been named one of 15 finalists in this year’s OROWEAT® “America’s Better Sandwich” contest from a pool of more than 2,900 entries.
From September 26 until October 23, you can help Crystal Schlueter bring home the grand prize dough of $25,000 by casting your vote online at AmericasBetterSandwich.com. The winner will be announced on National Sandwich Day, November 3.

Moroccan Rainbow Carrot Sandwiches with Spicy Orange Dressing
2 slices of Oroweat Healthfull Flax & Sunflower bread, toasted
2 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon harissa
1 tablespoon orange marmalade
1/4 teaspoon each of ground coriander & ground cumin
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 pinch each of salt & black pepper
3 medium assorted rainbow carrots, shaved into long ribbons with a vegetable peeler
1/2 cup loosely packed arugula
2 teaspoon fresh mint, chiffonade
2 tablespoons golden raisins
2 tablespoons chopped roasted pistachios
3 tablespoons crumbled feta
1/4 cup roasted garlic hummus
In a medium bowl whisk together the oil, lemon juice, harissa, marmalade coriander, cumin, cinnamon, salt, & pepper. Add the carrots, arugula, mint, & raisins. Toss mixture & let sit for 5 minutes. Gently stir in the pistachios & feta. Spread hummus over each slice of toast, & top with the carrot mixture.
