Brush fire burning near Kiowa is fully contained

ELBERT COUNTY, Colo. -- A fire that burned more than 300 acres in Elbert County is now fully contained, according to the Elizabeth Fire Protection District.

The Bradberry fire was burning near Comanche Creek Road and CR 166 Monday afternoon.

Pre-evacuation notices were issued for the Chaparral subdivision at about 1 p.m. but were lifted by about 1:30 p.m.

Crews from the Rattlesnake Fire Protection District and the Kiowa Fire Protection District were called to assist crews from Elizabeth.
