DENVER — A woman in a stolen vehicle evaded police for more than an hour before crashing into another vehicle and running off early Thursday morning, the Denver Police Department said.

Police said officers attempted to stop a red Honda for fraudulent plates and eluding but the driver did not stop.

A police helicopter followed the vehicle for more than an hour before it crashed into a gray vehicle at East 14th Avenue and North Downing Street.

The female driver took off running but was found about a block away, police said. She was not injured.

The driver of the second vehicle that was not involved in the police pursuit was not injured.

Police said at no time was it a high-speed chase.
