A man was found dead of a gunshot wound in Side Creek Park in Aurora on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016.

AURORA, Colo. — Police in Aurora are investigating what’s being termed a suspicious death in Side Creek Park on Thursday morning.

Officers responded to 19001 E. Colorado Drive just after 7:30 a.m. on a report of a mannequin with a weapon in the park.

When officers arrived, they found a deceased adult male with a gunshot wound.

Police provided no other information because the death remains under investigation.

The name and age of the person who died will be released after an autopsy has been performed and next of kin notified by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office.
