BOULDER, Colo. -- Shortly after police shot and killed a man armed with a machete Wednesday morning, there was another scare on the University of Colorado campus, but officials later said they believed it was a hoax.
The school tweeted a report of an active harmer at the University Memorial Center about 1:35 p.m. Shortly after 2 p.m., the school tweeted the all-clear.
A report of an active shooter was called to 911, but officials said they believed it to be a hoax.
At 2:40 p.m., officials said there were no threats to the campus.
Students evacuated the UMC after the initial reports.
About 20 minutes after saying the campus was open and clear, CU officials seemed to backtrack, creating confusion for some on campus before giving the all-clear.
