Colorado’s Castle-Styled ‘Summer White House’

MORRISON, Colo. -- If a fella named John Brisben Walker had his way back in the early 1900s, a castle-styled White House would've been built for the President of the United States on top of a mountain near Morrison.

Walker was an inventor, innovator and visionary, according to historians. His vision to create a 'Summer White House' on top of Mt. Falcon was certainly unique.

It may have seemed far-fetched, but Walker actually commissioned a well-known Denver architect to design the building.

Walker wanted it modeled after one of King Ludwig of Bavaria's castles, according to Jefferson County Historians.

However, Walker's idea didn't get too far. Watch Kevin Torres' 'Unique 2 Colorado' Report from Mt. Falcon to find out what happened.
