5 killed in fiery rollover crash at Arapahoe-Elbert county line

ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. -- Five people were killed in a rollover crash at the Arapahoe-Elbert county line on Sunday morning, the Colorado State Patrol said.

The CSP got the call at about 5:40 a.m.

The vehicle was traveling westbound on County Line Road when it went off the right side of the road east of Delbert Road at Monarch Circle. It rolled and caught fire, the CSP said.

A family member of one of the victims said the people in the car might have been visiting the Third Bridge in Aurora early Sunday morning. The bridge is commonly referred to as Ghost Bridge because it is rumored to be haunted.

County Line Road reopened about 1 p.m. No other vehicles were involved.

While the roadblock was in place, officials would not the media within half a mile of the wreck, saying it was "too graphic."

Video captured by SkyFOX showed the vehicle was burned beyond recognition. Investigators do not know names or ages of the victims.

The only thing investigators could say about the car is that it was a Volkswagen.

The CSP is still investigating the crash.
