DENVER — A former Denver police officer has been charged with multiple felony drug counts, the Denver District Attorney’s Office said Thursday.

Hubert “Marty” Vanover, 53, is charged with possession with intent to manufacture or distribute marijuana or marijuana concentrate, possession of a controlled substance and two counts of possession of marijuana or marijuana concentrate.

Over the summer, police investigated an anonymous complaint of marijuana odor coming from a home in the 4900 block of South Field Way.

Vanover, who owns the home, was arrested last week as he was driving by it while officers were executing a search warrant.

Vanover has been released on a $2,000 bond and is due in court on Oct. 21 to be formally advised of the charges.
