Golf course promises to clean storage area that brought complaints from neighbors

LITTLETON, Colo. -- One of metro Denver's most beautiful golf courses is under fire by a group of neighbors who say a project is ruining their view.

Debbie Blair and many of her neighbors at the Westlake Greens apartments in Littleton contacted the FOX31 Problem Solvers because they said they're tired of looking at dirt, weeds and leftover pipe pieces at the edge of the golf course.

“People come over to visit us and can't believe what a mess it looks like.”

Golf course general manager Don Allen said he is sensitive to the neighbors' concerns and explained that the area is utilized for soil storage for an upcoming project.

On Wednesday, Allen said cleanup could begin within two weeks to a month.

Neighbors said although they would like the dry weeds removed immediately, they are happy the course management is listening to them.

Blair said now that the communication lines are open,  she’s hopeful the situation will be worked out.
