Neighbors say golf course is using property as dumping ground

LITTLETON, Colo. -- One of the metro area's most beautiful golf courses is under fire by a group of neighbors who say a project there is ruining their view.

Debbie Blair and many of her neighbors at the Westlake Greens apartments in Littleton contacted the FOX31 Problem Solvers because they said they're tired of looking at dirt, weeds and leftover pipe pieces at the edge of the golf course.

“People come over to visit us and can't believe what a mess it looks like," she said.

The Raccoon Creek Golf Course general manager said he is sensitive to the neighbors' concerns.

He said the area is utilized for soil storage for an upcoming project and will be cleared within a couple of months.

"But we'll make an effort, if we get an opportunity we'll get in there and clean it up," he said.

Neighbors said although they would like the dry weeds removed immediately, they are happy the course management is listening to them.

Blair said now that the communication lines are open,  she’s hopeful the situation will be worked.
