Wildfire burns 25 acres north of Lyons in Larimer County

LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. -- A wildfire burned 25 acres near Rabbit Mountain north of Lyons in Larimer County on Monday, the Larimer County Sheriff's Office said.

The fire started about 9 a.m. Officials believe a blown transformer is the cause of the fire. It burned 25 acres, officials said.

Fire crews from Boulder and Larimer counties responded to the fire.

No structures were damaged and no injuries were reported. Eight emergency notifications were sent to eight devices -- not homes -- in the area of Dakota Ridge Road and Indian Mountain Road to alert people to be ready to evacuate as necessary.
