DENVER — DeMarcus Ware slammed Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton to the ground with a sack in the middle of the third quarter Thursday night of the NFL season opener at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
The sack came on a third-and-3 play that resulted in a 7-yard loss and forced the Panthers to punt.
The hit was so big that Newton had a hard time getting to the sideline. He limped to the bench and was being checked out.
Newton wasn’t too shaken up, though. He returned to the game following a three-and-out from the Broncos.
Maybe he just had to floss?
