DENVER -- Crews started tearing down and cleaning up after the NFL Kickoff Village closed in downtown Denver on Thursday before the Broncos played the Carolina Panthers in a Super Bowl 50 rematch to kick off the new season.
The festival closed with a televised concert by OneRepublic and Dierks Bentley amid a sea of Broncos orange in Civic Center Park.
Denver police officers were out in full force and the traffic division geared up for the postgame mania.
"We want you to enjoy it," a spokesman said. "There's a lot of hype around it, but you have to be smart you have to be safe. If you're going to drink, do so responsibly reach for a taxi or a cab."
