3 arrested for motorcycle event that blocked I-25 in July

DENVER -- Police have arrested three men involved with a group of motorcycle riders who  blocked a portion of Interstate 25 in July.

The Denver Police Department said 29-year-old Ryan Easton of Pueblo, 33-year-old Richard Patton of Colorado Springs and 28-year-old Clinton Hawkins of Colorado Springs are each being held on charges of exhibition of speed and reckless driving.

The blockage was reportedly part of “Kill Da Streetz,” an event motorcyclists said was meant to honor riders killed on the road.

The group traveled around the metro area on July 24 and caused delays, police said.

The group blocked northbound I-25 near University Boulevard, causing traffic to back up while the group did tricks in the middle of the interstate.

The motorcycles belonging to Patton and Hawkins have been impounded. The three men are being extradited to Denver.
