Broncos fall to Cardinals, 38-17, in preseason finale
GLENDALE, Ariz. — The Broncos lost their final preseason game of the season on Thursday night against the Arizona Cardinals, 38-17.
Broncos first-round draft pick Paxton Lynch played the entire game. He started strong with a 57-yard touchdown to Jordan Taylor on the Broncos’ opening drive.
Lynch and Taylor would connect in the end zone again in the late third quarter for a 3-yard touchdown pass.
Despite the Broncos trying to come back in the third quarter, the game continued to be dominated by the Cardinals with multiple touchdowns, a pick-six against Lynch, a successful two- point conversion, and a field goal.
Lynch completed 13 of 22 passes for 214 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. For the Cardinals, quarterback Matt Barkley was 20 of 29 for 262 yards and two touchdowns.
The Broncos finish the preseason 2-2.
