MONTE VISTA, Colo. – This week a young man from Monte Vista was laid to rest. Dusty Claunch was only 27-years-old, but he accomplished more in that short period of time than most people who live to 90 do.

Aside from being an amazing friend, brother, son and grandson, Claunch was also a combine driver, deputy coroner, EMT, deputy sheriff and crop duster.

Claunch died last Friday while flying a crop dusting plane. It crashed into a field.

This week, the community of Monte Vista came together to celebrate Dusty’s life.
