DENVER – The National Park Service is celebrating its 100th birthday this weekend by giving us all a gift – free admission to all parks all weekend.

Admission to its more than 400 parks across the country will be free Thursday, Aug. 25 through Sunday, Aug. 28.

There are 4 beautiful National Parks to visit in Colorado.

Rocky Mountain National Park – located between Estes Park and Grand Lake. It is the most popular National Park in the state.

Great Sand Dunes National Park – located near Alamosa and features mountains of sand towering up to 750 feet.

Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park – located near Montrose.

Mesa Verde National Park – located in southwest Colorado near Cortez.

If you can’t make it this weekend, you still got a few more opportunities for free admission, according to its website. Those days are September 24 for National Public Lands Day and November 11 for Veterans Day.
