JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — A brush fire that was threatening buildings just south of Chatfield Reservoir was brought under control Wednesday, South Metro Fire Rescue said.

The fire was burning in open space between homes and outbuildings between Romona Avenue and Wagonwheel Drive, and North Rampart Lane and Roxborough Park Road, South Metro Fire Rescue said.

South Metro said the fire was controlled and structures were no longer threatened.

“Fire is out, cause still undetermined,” South Metro said in an update on Twitter about two hours later. “Neighbors report having a power outage just before seeing smoke and flames.”
