Car crashes into construction truck stopped on U.S. 36

BROOMFIELD, Colo. — A car crashed into a construction truck that was stopped on eastbound Highway 36 on Tuesday, North Metro Fire Rescue said.

The crash happened near Wadsworth Parkway about 1:15 p.m., according to North Metro Fire Rescue. There were two people in the car at time of the crash, the Broomfield Police Department said.

One person had to be extricated from the vehicle. Both people were rushed to the hospital, but police did not provide any information about their injuries.

No one was in the construction truck at the time of the crash.

The right two lanes on the eastbound side of the highway were closed at 2 p.m., police said. They reopened at about 2:45 p.m.
