Texting driver blamed for 5-car crash in Highlands Ranch

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. — A driver who was texting behind the wheel is facing charges after five cars crashed in Highlands Ranch.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office tweeted photos of the crashes Thursday.

The sheriff’s office said the crashes happened at West Highlands Ranch Parkway and Lucent Boulevard on Friday.

“This initially appeared to be a fatal accident, however, [the] patient regained consciousness,” the sheriff’s office said on Twitter.

The driver was not playing Pokemon Go, according to a tweet from the sheriff’s office.
