21-year-old man dies after being found shot in car at Aurora apartment complex

AURORA, Colo. -- A 21-year-old man was killed in an early-morning shooting at an apartment complex on Thursday, the Aurora Police Department said. He has been identified as Alexander Joseph Johnson.

Police responded about 12:45 a.m. to multiple reports of gunshots fired at the Viridians at the Gardens on Havana apartment complex in west Aurora.

When officers arrived, they found Johnson in a vehicle that was stopped in front of 1276 S. Joliet Court. Johnson was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

He was shot in the chest, according to the Arapahoe County Coroner's Office.

Detectives are investigating and do not have a description of any suspects.
