Suspect sought after 2 carjackings in Commerce City

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. -- A man is being sought after two vehicles were carjacked on Wednesday, the Commerce City Police Department said.

Police said the man carjacked an SUV at gunpoint at the Dollar General Store at 7400 Highway 2 about 5:45 p.m. The man fled eastbound on East 72nd Avenue until he abandoned the vehicle at the intersection of Highway 2 and 72nd Avenue, police said.

The man ran into a 7-Eleven parking lot at 6302 E. 72nd Ave. and took a 2014 Honda Civic at gunpoint, police said. The vehicle has a Colorado license plate of 113-WRT. The man then fled eastbound on East 72nd Avenue.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 30s. He was wearing a black and white striped shirt. He is considered armed and dangerous.

No injuries were reported.
