AURORA, Colo. -- A female motorcyclist was killed after colliding with an SUV on Thursday morning, the Aurora Police Department said.

The crash happened on the South Gartrell Road bridge over E-470 about 8:30 a.m.

Police said an SUV was traveling northbound on Gartrell and turning left to get onto westbound E-470 when it ran into the motorcyclist.

The woman was taken to Parker Adventist Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police said drugs, alcohol and high speed do not appear to be factors in the crash. The driver of the SUV remained at the scene of the crash and was not injured.

Gartrell Road was expected to remain closed until before noon as police investigate the crash.
