GOLDEN, Colo. -- A 71-year-old California man headed to Colorado to pan for gold has gone missing, and the Golden Police Department is asking for help.

John Cizek was last seen on June 12 at the McDonald’s in Alamosa. He was traveling in a 2016 Minnie Winnie Winnebago after telling friends he was headed to Colorado to pan for gold above 10,000 feet.

Investigators are also interested in the movements of David Little, who is alleged to have fired shots at police in Edgewater as they were trying to arrest him on an outstanding warrant for sexual assault of a child.

At the time of his arrest, Little told police he had an RV parked nearby. Golden police officers were then able to determine the RV belonged to Cizak.

Little has been charged with numerous counts, including attempted murder, second-degree assault and sexual assault of a child.

“There are circumstances that make the disappearance very suspicious to law enforcement and it’s something we have to get to the bottom of,” Jefferson County District Attorney Peter Weir said. “We need the public’s help to do that.”

If anyone has seen Cizak or Little, or has any information about them, contact the Golden Police Department at 303-384-8045.
