FORT LUPTON, Colo. -- Strong winds downed several trees and a light pole fell onto a car in Fort Lupton on Tuesday night, the Fort Lupton Fire Protection District said.

The winds at 9:45 p.m. damaged trees at Fort Lupton Middle School and partially tore the roof off three storage units at Kahil Street and South Denver Avenue.

Power lines also were knocked down and debris was on several streets.

Crews set up barricades to remove a large tree that blocked Grand Avenue at Sixth Street.

No injuries were reported.
