LOUISVILLE, Colo. — Police arrested a man who allegedly threatened to go into Avista Hospital and shoot people, the Louisville Police Department said Saturday. Police responded to reports of a man outside the building just before noon.

The hospital was placed on lockdown while police searched the building and parking lot. No gunman was found.

Police then identified the caller of the threat and arrested 50-year-old Hugh McPherson at his Arvada home. McPherson is in the Boulder County Jail on charges of harassment and false reporting.

No weapons have been recovered.
