EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. — Officials said the pilot of a plane who made an emergency landing was taken to the hospital with minor injuries Saturday. Two passengers were flown by helicopter to a hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown.

Fire and rescue crews rushed to the site outside Schriever Air Force Base. Deputies said the plane’s engine failed, and it landed early in the afternoon near Highway 94 and Peyton Highway, about a mile northeast of the base.
