GEORGETOWN, Colo. — Water rescue teams recovered the body of a kayaker who capsized in Georgetown Lake on Sunday.

The 30-year-old man was having a picnic with family and went out on the the lake about 7:15 p.m. Saturday. Witnesses reported seeing the man fall into the water and said he was not wearing a life preserver.

Family members and bystanders jumped into the water to find him, but they couldn’t reach him.

Several agencies also searched for the man, whose body was recovered early Sunday morning by the Summit County Water Rescue Team. No foul play is suspected.
