DENVER -- Three events in Denver this weekend could mean one big headache for people trying to drive through downtown.

The 14th annual Denver Chalk Art Festival draws close to 150,000 people each year to Larimer Square. Sidewalks will remain open to pedestrian traffic, and the event is open to the public.

Larimer Street from 15th Street to Speer Boulevard, and 14th Street between Market and Lawrence streets closed Friday morning and will reopen at 6 a.m. Monday.

Drivers traveling eastbound are suggested to use Speer Boulevard or 17th Street, and southbound drivers should use Blake or Arapahoe streets.

Thousands of people are expected at Civic Center Park for the annual Capitol Hill People's Fair on Saturday and Sunday.

Several roads will be closed until early Monday morning, including: Bannock Street from Colfax to 13th avenues; 14th Avenue from Cherokee Street to Lincoln Avenue; Cheyenne Place from Broadway to Colfax; 14th Street from Court Place to Colfax; 15th Street from Cleveland Place to Colfax; and Broadway from 17th Avenue to 13th Avenue.

The other big event will be the Growers-Only Farmers' Market at Union Station. It's the first time the event will be held in Denver and will go from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, then continue every Saturday until Oct. 24 on the north side of Wynkoop Plaze at 17th and Wynkoop streets.
