DENVER -- Two suspects are being sought after a robbery at a medical marijuana dispensary, followed by a chase and a crash early Friday morning, the Denver Police Department said.

Police said the robbery happened at The Shelter in the 4000 block of Jackson Street just before 4 a.m. The glass front door of the dispensary was shattered.

Police then chased a vehicle, which crashed on the eastbound on-ramp to Interstate 70 off Colorado Boulevard.

Police said the suspects got out of the vehicle and ran from officers. They believe the suspects jumped a fence into the Safeway distribution center on the south side of I-70 where a search failed to find them.

A woman who was with the suspects was taken into custody. The on-ramp to I-70 was briefly closed but it reopened about 5 a.m.

About 7 a.m., police were led to the Park Hill 4000 Apartments complex at East 40th Avenue and Albion Street where a search was underway for the suspects. Police advised residents in the area to stay indoors as they searched.

Police looked in detached garages for the suspects and were following a blood trail believed have been caused when the suspects went through the cut class at the dispensary.

Police have not released a description of the suspects. No injuries have been reported.
