NEW YORK — Will Rob Lowe be the next co-hose of “Live” with Kelly Ripa? Discussions are already in progress, according to a report from Entertainment Tonight.

A source tells ET that ABC, which produces “Live,” has been talking with Lowe’s representation about the role.

His Fox show “The Grinder” was recently canceled.

Lowe was reportedly in the running for the “Live” job after Regis Philbin retired, but that spot was taken by Michael Strahan.

Strahan left the show this month after getting a full-time spot on “Good Morning America.”

The move was rocky after Ripa claimed she only found out about Strahan’s departure last-minute.

“Live” airs weekdays at 9 a.m. on FOX31 Denver.
