DENVER -- A pedestrian was fatally struck by a light rail train early Wednesday morning, the Denver Police Department said.

The incident happened about 3:40 a.m. near the Louisiana Pearl Station. Witnesses said the victim was hit by a train on the H line.

The E, F and H lines were affected as police conducted an investigation, and passengers were being placed on bus shuttles and taken to the Broadway station.

At 8 a.m., RTD said the bus shuttles were stopped and that all three lines had been reopened. However, it said it would take 60 to 90 minutes for the trains to get back on schedule and for passengers to expect delays.
