PUEBLO, Colo. — The family of a 15-year-old girl who was reported as a runaway received messages saying she was kidnapped and is being held hostage, the Pueblo Police Department said Friday.

Gema Arias was reported missing on May 13 after not coming home from Central High School. But on Thursday, her relatives began receiving messages on social media, apparently from the girl, saying she had been kidnapped and was being held hostage.

The girl lives with her grandmother, not far from the school. She also has relatives in the Denver metro area.

She is described as 5-foot-4 and weighing 100 pounds. She was last seen wearing black tights and a black shirt.
