4-year-old, one other killed in Arvada group home fire

ARVADA, Colo -- An overnight fire killed two people, including a 4-year-old, the Arvada Fire District said.

Crews were called to 6152 Robb St. in the early morning hours Saturday. The fire was out by around 4 a.m.

The other victim was a 39-year-old woman named Tanya Bell.

The Arvada Fire District said six other people were also taken to the hospital.

Neighbors said it was the home of a family that took care of people with special needs.

The American Red Cross said it had provided lodging and mental health support for five adults Saturday night.

Scott Parker, owner of the home where the fire broke out and owner of Parker Personal Care Homes, the adult foster care company, issued a statement on Facebook:

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
