DENVER -- It's a moment the Washington Post calls "a Marco Rubio moment" for the Republicans' top Senate candidate in Colorado.

During a Republican U.S. Senate debate Thursday, candidate Jon Keyser was asked a simple question about signatures from voters to get his name on the ballot: "Were they forged?"

Washington Post articleRecent allegations brought to the Secretary of State’s Office questioned some of the signatures submitted in order to qualify for the June primary ballot.

Keyser repeatedly failed to answer the question, instead saying he was "on the ballot" on multiple occasions.

"The Democrats are doing everything they can right now to derail me." Keyser said.

When asked again if he knew of a criminal investigation, Keyser responded that he "had answered" the question.
