AURORA, Colo. — Construction on the 2016 Denver St. Jude Dream Home is moving right along.  The ceremonial groundbreaking was held Feb. 12 with construction getting underway a few weeks later.

When completed the 3,400-square-foot home will be valued at $550,000, and feature four bedrooms, four bathrooms and a three-car garage. The home is being built by Oakwood Homes in the Tollgate Crossing neighborhood of Aurora.

Tickets for the Denver Dream Home Giveaway will go on sale June 15. Only 13,000 tickets will be available at $100 each.  Winners of all prizes, including the Dream Home, will be drawn on Sept. 1 live on FOX31 Denver’s “Good Day Colorado” and Channel 2’s “Daybreak” morning newscasts.

All prizes are donated so the $1.3 million raised by the Denver St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway ticket sales goes directly to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to help support its efforts in finding cures and saving children from catastrophic illnesses.

FOX31 Denver anchor Deborah Takahara traveled to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for a first-hand look at the work being done there in April.  She will share that experience in a series of reports this summer.

More information on the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway, including how to buy tickets and the other prizes that will be given away, will be available in early June.

You can also support St. Jude this week by attending the Denver Glamour and Giving fashion event happening Friday at the Denver Ritz Carlton Hotel hosted by FOX31 Denver “Everyday” co-host Chris Parente.  More information on that event is available at StJude.org.
