Convenience store clerk shot in attempted robbery

DENVER -- A convenience store clerk was shot after an attempted robbery early Monday morning, the Denver Police Department said.

The shooting happened about 1 a.m. at the Diamond Shamrock gas station at Broadway and West 10th Avenue.

The clerk was taken to a hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.

A description of the suspect has not been released.
