DENVER -- More than 3,000 people pounded the pavement Saturday at City Park for the March of Dimes' 30th annual March for Babies walk.

More than 500,000 babies are born prematurely every year and thousands of those cases are in Colorado.

Saturday’s event raised money to fund research and ultimately a cure to prevent premature births, and a team from FOX31 Denver took part.

It raked in about $650,000 for the March of Dimes.
