DENVER — The Denver Police Department said Saturday it is investigating a homicide that occurred overnight in the 200 block of Osceola Street.

On Monday, the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner said the victim was 30-year-old Jairo Perez, who was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy concluded Perez died from a gunshot wound and the manner of death is homicide.

One person is being held on an investigative hold for first-degree murder and second-degree aggravated assault.

Police did not identify the suspect, and did not say whether there was a connection between the two.
