Two in custody after stabbing on 16th Street Mall

One person was stabbed on the 16th Street Mall on Monday, April 4, 2016.

DENVER — One person was injured and two people were taken into custody after a stabbing on the 16th Street Mall on Monday night, the Denver Police Department said.

The stabbing happened about 10 p.m. between Welton and California streets, police said.

Three people were involved in a verbal altercation that became physical.

One of people was taken to a hospital with cuts to the chest. The injuries were considered to be nonlife-threatning, police said.

The person taken to the hospital is also a suspect in the altercation, police said.

The names, ages and gender of the suspects were not released. It’s unclear what led to the altercation.
