DENVER -- The University of Denver athletics program is arguably the most successful college athletic program in Colorado with 31 national championships.
This week, the men's hockey team is chasing another one.
It has been 11 years since the Pioneers competed at the Frozen Four when it won the last of its seven championships (1958, 1960, 1961, 1968, 1969, 2004, 2005).
The Pioneers will play rival North Dakota at 6:30 p.m. Thursday with a berth in Saturday's national championship game on the line.
Boston College meets Quinnipiac at 3 p.m. in the first national semifinal. The winners meet at 6 p.m. Saturday in the national championship game.
