Fire heavily damages two Denver homes, injures firefighter

DENVER -- A fire heavily damaged two connected single-family homes Saturday morning, the Denver Fire Department said.

The house fire was reported about 9:40 a.m. by 5280 Fire in the 1200 block of South Mariposa Street.

Denver Fire tweeted about 10:15 a.m. that it had crews working the fire, with no transports and a minor injury to a firefighter.

The protective gear took a great deal of heat, causing a minor burn injury to the firefighter's ears, Denver Fire said.
