Gerald Duane Havens

BRIGHTON, Colo. — Police want help finding a suspect accused of breaking into a police officer’s house and stealing weapons. Investigators said Friday they are looking for 30-year-old Gerald Duane Havens.

“Havens is currently being sought by police for arrest on warrants stemming from the burglary of a police officer’s house in which firearms were taken,” a Brighton police news release said.

Havens is described as a white male, 6-foot and weighing 175 pounds. He has brown eyes and has shaved or close-cropped brown hair.

Police said Havens is reportedly homeless and might be staying with friends or relatives in the Denver-Lakewood area.

They believe he is armed and might pose a threat if confronted. Police said he should not be approached and anyone who sees him is asked to call 911.

Anyone with nonemergency information that might help police locate Havens or the stolen firearms can call Det. Cpl. Michael Payne at 303-655-2367.
