DENVER -- Two cases of the Zika virus have been confirmed in Colorado this year, health officials said Tuesday.
Both individuals had traveled to an unidentified Zika-affected country and both have recovered, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment said.
The people, their ages and genders have not been released. The cases were reported last week.
The most common way to get the Zika virus is from the bite of an infected mosquito that does not live in Colorado. Pregnant women can pass on the virus to her fetus or newborn near the time of birth.
It can also be spread by a man to his sex partners.
