LAKEWOOD, Colo. -- A man is recovering after being shot during a Craigslist meeting that was "very likely" drug related on Monday night, the Lakewood Police Department said.

The shooting happened about 8:30 p.m. at West 26th Avenue and Pierce Street. Investigators said two men were sitting in a vehicle after responding to the ad.

A white sedan occupied by a male and a female then pulled behind the vehicle and a Hispanic man about 25 years old got out and approached the two men in their vehicle, police said.

The suspect demanded the men get out of their vehicle and shot one of them, After both men got out of the vehicle, the female suspect got into the victims' vehicle and fled the scene. The male suspect left in the white sedan.

Police describe the victims' vehicle as a green 1998 Ford Escort with Colorado license plate QKL-268.

The shooting victim was taken to a hospital to be treated for what are believed to be nonlife-threatening injuries.
