ESTES PARK, Colo. — Two officers with the Estes Park Police Department rescued a buck that was stranded in the frozen Big Thompson River on Wednesday.

D.J. Walsh posted video to YouTube that shows the buck in the icy water and struggling to get traction on ice to get out.

Two officers arrived and lassoed the buck, pulling it out and setting it on its way.

Walsh wrote that the buck and its family are often seen nearby, and Walsh saw it go into the Knoll-Willows area of Estes Park.
