Lakewood police agent hit by ricochet bullet at gun range

MORRISON, Colo. — A Lakewood police agent was hit in the leg by a ricochet round at the Rooney Valley Law Enforcement Training Facility on Tuesday morning, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said.

The shooting happened about 9:30 a.m. in the Thunder Valley Park area between Interstate 70 and C-470.

The agent was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries, but the injuries are not believed to be life threatening, the sheriff’s office said.
