Denver police search for man wanted for first-degree murder in apartment complex death

DENVER — Police identified a man Friday night they said was wanted for first-degree murder in relation to a shooting that happened at an apartment complex on Thursday night in Denver.

The wanted man is Najib Abdinasir Mahamoud. He’s described as a black man, 6-foot 3 and 165 pounds.

Police said he is considered armed and dangerous. The shooting happened at the Spyglass Hill apartments in the 7100 block of East Mississippi Avenue near South Quebec Street.

Two people were shot, and one of them died Friday. The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner identified the dead man as 28-year-old Isaiah Roquemore.

Police asked anyone who sees Mahamoud to call 911.
